Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Staticfish for web development services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with any part of these terms, please don't use my services.
2. Services Provided
I offer the following web development services:
- Business website development
- Optional editable content / CMS add-on
- Custom web application development
- Website hosting and support
3. Pricing and Payment
Pricing Structure:
- All prices are listed in GBP (£)
- Website development fees are one-time payments
- Additional features are quoted separately where applicable
- Brochure-site hosting fees start at £25/month
- Editable-content projects have higher recurring fees due to CMS access and support
Payment Terms:
- No upfront payment is required before initial direction is shown
- Full payment is due once the completed website is approved and before launch
- Payments processed via Stripe
- Invoices provided for all transactions
4. Project Scope and Revisions
What's Included:
- Design mockups for approval before development
- Up to 2 rounds of revisions at each stage
- Mobile-responsive design
- Basic SEO optimization
- Training on content management (if applicable)
Scope Changes:
If you request changes outside the agreed scope, I'll provide a separate quote. Major changes after development begins may delay the timeline and incur additional costs.
5. Timeline
Typical project timelines:
- Business Website: 1-3 weeks
- Website with editing add-on: 2-4 weeks
- Custom projects: As quoted
Timelines assume prompt feedback from you. Delays in providing content, feedback, or approvals will extend the timeline.
6. Content and Assets
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide all text content
- Provide images, logos, and brand assets
- Ensure you have rights to use all provided materials
- Provide domain access if using an existing domain
- Cover the cost of any new domain registration if one is needed
If you need help with content creation or stock images, let me know and I can provide a separate quote.
7. Intellectual Property
Ownership:
- You own the final website and all custom code created for you
- I retain the right to use the project in my portfolio
- I may reuse general coding patterns and techniques
- Third-party tools and services remain property of their respective owners
8. Hosting and Ongoing Support
Hosting:
- Hosting is provided via Cloudflare's global CDN
- Includes hosting, SSL certificate, backups, and security monitoring
- Monthly fee of £25 covers standard brochure-site hosting
- Editable-content projects are billed at a higher monthly rate due to CMS access and support
- You can cancel hosting with 30 days notice
- If you cancel, I'll provide your website files to move elsewhere
If you already own a domain, I can help point it to the website. If you need a new domain, I can register and configure it for you, but the registration cost is paid by you separately.
Routine hosting-related maintenance is included in the monthly hosting fee. Additional content changes, new pages, or new functionality are quoted separately unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. Refunds and Cancellations
Because payment is due after approval and before launch, there is normally no refund situation before launch. If a project is cancelled before approval, no launch will take place and no hosting fees will begin. If payment has been made and the site has launched, any future cancellation only affects ongoing monthly services, not the completed project work.
I want you to be happy with the result. If there are issues, I'll work with you to resolve them.
10. Support
I offer email support for all clients. Response time is typically within 24 hours during business days. Hosting clients receive routine monitoring and upkeep, while additional content or feature requests are quoted separately.
11. Limitation of Liability
While I strive for excellence, I'm not liable for: loss of profits, business interruption, data loss, or any indirect damages. My total liability is limited to the amount you paid for services.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to Terms
I may update these terms from time to time. I'll notify clients of significant changes. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance.
